Report: Global Biodiversity Down 30 Percent in 40 Years

Today I saw this article and felt compelled to write this blog. I write this not to frighten anyone or use scare tatics but to inspire others to recognize what is happening to our beloved home the Earth, and to motivate people to consciously accept our responsibility. Once we take responsibility we then can begin to accept the need to change.
A Vision Quest Message
This past fall I did a Vision Quest near Santa Cruz California. This was an “overnight” Vision Quest which was spent in an Ini Ti (aka sweat lodge). I prepared for the Vision Quest by first waking before the sun rose so I could greet the new day with prayer and thanksgiving. Then I spent the rest of the day preparing all the necessary offerings to create the Vision Quest Hocoka (altar). I made 405 tobacco ties, 6 prayer flags, and another string of 50 tobacco ties. I also made ready a recently purchased bucket, a ladle, and a new quilt. I prepared both my personal Sacred Pipe and a new offering Sacred Pipe that I made beforehand. I also created a special offering of red wool material, a shell, and a feather.
Once all the item were ready I created the Vision Quest altar inside the sweat lodge. I place a bed of sage down on the ground to sit on for the duration of the quest. After a quick steam with hot stones I entered the Vision Quest altar as the day turned to night.
During the quest I was reminded of something that I was told long ago.
As I sat there in deep prayer a light began to shine from above me. I looked up and towards the west as this light approached. Once it shined directly in front of me the light formed into the face of an animal. It began to change into faces of other animals, one at a time. The light quickly changed from one face to another. It showed many types of animals from all over the world. As the light changed there was a voice that spoke from far above my head. This voice said
“A long time ago humans made an agreement to care for all the world’s creatures and animals. They have forgotten this agreement and it’s having disastrous consequences. If humans value their lives and the lives of their children they will stop this current suicidal course. This is not just about you and your children, our children (the animals) are dying also. We (the animals) of this earth still follow the original laws. We are here to help humans, to teach you, and guide you, but we need your help also. We need humans to care for us (animals) and the earth so our descendants will survive also. In this way humans will have the help they need and we will also. We need humans to right this wrong.”
This vision was both a warning but also comforting. The warning is that we are now living a life that is killing our future. The comforting part was that we have not YET passed the point of no return……
This is no joke. Our life upon the earth is going to become even more tenuous unless a change is made. What are we going to do if there animal nations turn their back on us?
There are people that know what must be done….. And we are doing are part. I know there are many people in the world that sense something must change to ensure humans and animals survive. It’s time to step up and become the change. This is why the Helper Program and the Leadership Initiation Program was created. This is why I wrote the book and this is why I do the work that needs to be done. I’m praying that others will join us.
